Blip Roasters

Region:

The Local Take

Blip Roasters is a testament to the rugged, unbreakable spirit of both its founder, Ian Davis, and the historic West Bottoms neighborhood it calls home. After surviving a devastating fire at its original location and navigating the turbulence of economic shutdowns, Blip emerged stronger than ever inside a colossal brick-and-timber industrial complex on Woodswether Road. The aesthetic here is pure, unfiltered raw industrialism: soaring concrete ceilings, heavy exposed timber framing, and golden dusty sunlight pouring through massive factory windows. The space feels part specialty coffee bar, part community community center, and part lifestyle boutique—complete with a dedicated retail wing selling premium Bell and Biltwell helmets, riding gloves, and heavy-duty moto apparel.

Despite the motorcycle-heavy decor and full custom bikes parked right on the showroom floor, Blip is explicitly designed to be completely unpretentious and universally inclusive. The baristas—many of whom are trained in coffee-specific sign language to better communicate with deaf and hard-of-hearing guests—serve up an elite menu of house-roasted single-origin coffees and draft iced lattes. They emphasize sweeter, highly approachable profiles alongside inventive signatures like honey lavender oat lattes and a stellar house-made chai. The interior features a cavernous secondary lounge packed with plush leather couches, long communal work tables, and plenty of space for remote workers to spread out during the week.

💡 Insider Tip: If you want a peaceful place to set up a laptop or read a book, visit on a weekday afternoon when the warehouse functions as a quiet, airy sanctuary. However, if you want to experience Blip’s true, legendary soul, show up on a Sunday morning. Known affectionately by locals as “Sunday Church,” hundreds of vintage, custom, and modern motorcyclists from all over the region descend on the property to drink espresso, talk shop, and show off their bikes before hitting the open road. Don’t worry if you don’t ride a motorcycle—the crowd is incredibly friendly, food truck pop-ups (like sourdough donut vendors) are common, and the local energy is absolutely infectious.
